Everything you could possibly need has been thought of, and the lovely extra touches of milk, flowers and bottle of wine just make it even more special. The position s fantastic - in a country park but only a few miles from Newcastle, the Metro centre etc. What else could you ask for? Read less

"A perfect cottage for a relaxing holiday"

My husband and I took our daughter age 43 to visit long lost relatives. Puffing Billy was the most amazing cottage, extremely well equipped kitchen etc. Bedrooms peaceful and very comfortable. Lounge/diningroom very spacious and relaxing. The views from the cottage over the beautiful parklands was an added bonus. We will certainly return sometime next year to do more family history. Our stay in Puffing Billy Cottage is one we definitely hope to repeat. The location was perfect for walks from the door, with easy access to lots of interesting places to visit. The welcome wine, flowers and milk were extra touches to an extremely well equipped cottage, which had been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Andrea and Michael, the owners who live next door, were both welcoming and friendly.Like many others who have repeated visits, we hope to do the same in the future. Read less

We had a good week with trips out every day. We saw part of Hadrian's Wall and also visited a couple of National Trust properties. The Discovery Museum in Newcastle is amazing, we spent the whole day there. Also, Sunderland Museum and Winter Garden is well worth a visit and easy to get to on the Metro. Alnwick has the famous Barter Books (secondhand) in the old railway station, don't miss it if you are in the area. We could easily have filled another week with daily trips. Read less

This was a holiday cottage and was of a very high standard indeed. We first visited at Christmas 2009 and were very impressed. It was well equipped and spotlessly clean.

In over 20 years of self-catered holidays, this cottage is certainly in the top 3. A well maintained property with all the facilities we could hope for, plus fresh flowers, milk and wine!

The cottage is beautifully appointed and is in a rural location, though close to public transport, supermarket etc. Excellent pub nearby with good beer and lovely food. Read less

and we cannot speak highly enough of the cottage and the surrounding area - country - coast - city everything you could possibly want. Walks by the river or pop on the metro and into Newcastle or just a bit further and you are at the coast. The cottage itself is amazing... so clean and well appointed we are left wanting for nothing....perhaps that explains why it was our third visit Read less
